Lots to celebrate!

So its April and that means it is birthday time! We honestly cannot believe on 1st April it was our 5th birthday! Sadly we were unable to host our usual celebratory drinks and cake……..my goodness we really do have a lot of catching up to do. Carrie however did a fabulous job rustling up miniature cupcakes for everyone which was very much appreciated. Of course it is not only birthday time but Easter too, and because of current lockdown restrictions it has meant we have been unable to open our wonderful award winning marina to all our usual overnight visiting boaters who are now out and about on the river after a long old Winter of closures. It is great to see so much activity over this first bank holiday of the year.

We have been using the past couple of weeks to do all sorts of things, from planting hedges, creosoting fences and reseeding patchy grass, to ordering new trolleys, benches and a stretch tent for the boathouse as well as taking the opportunity to give the boathouse a bit of a facelift on the inside. You may recall last lockdown prompted us to repaint the exterior of the boathouse, so it seemed only right and proper to give the interior a bit of love this time around. We cant wait to see how it looks. Going back to jobs, over the next few days we will be installing more cleats to assist with the mooring of boats as well as building some new steps from the car park to Tooley, we know these initiatives will be most welcomed.

The office has introduced some new initiatives including rewards to boaters who recommend new boaters to sign up, and a free bottle of prosecco and welcome card to new boaters when they arrive.

Finally, we have relinked arms with Boatfinder Brokerage who will be handling all boat sales going forward. We had a dabble selling boats ourselves last year but soon realised it really is a job for the experts. So we are delighted to be working with them once again.

So that is about it - after a year of uncertainty, there is one thing we are certain about here at White Mills and that there is lots to look forward to and share with you over the next few months. So Happy Easter from us all, and we look forward to welcoming you very soon.
