Bridge News

So we’re now well into 2026 and it has been all systems go here at White Mills. Defionitely not slacking here!

Work has got underway on the main bridge outside the marina that links the A4500 to A428. It has been needing some specialist attention for some years now, and we are glad to report the repairs are now being carried out. However word is that the works will not be completed until the end of June., and whilst this is and will continue to be very frustrating for our boaters and regulars to the boathouse, we fully appreciate it is no small task as the bridge itself is being completely rebuilt; so it is easy to see why it will take so long. Works include :

  • removing the existing bridge deck

  • installing new foundations and a new deck

  • reconstructiong and resurfacing new carriageway

  • surface dressing the approaches to the bridge

We have a month under our belts already - so time should fly by. The good news for our boating fraternity is the engineers are working towards having the river navigable in time for Easter….. so watch this space. We will bring you the very latest news and developments.

Above is the first picture of what is currently going on, pedestrians cannot get anywhere near the major works, so we are relying on the construction company for the latest updates and pictures.

In other (we think bigger news) we are really thrilled to announce that our beautiful new facilities block is now completely fully operational. We are so so pleased with the high quality fit out and feel sure that our boaters will love using the superb showers and boaters lounge which have been created specifically to provide them with a very special space to enjoy which naturally benefits from stunning views over looking the marina and beyond. Below are a selection of photographs. We hope you approve.
