Yella fella lends a hand

Oh my goodness me - what fun we had in the boathouse today with Pudsey and co popping by to say hi!

It was very busy in the boathouse as it was this lunchtime, but when Annabel Amos and Tom Percival from Radio Northampton called in at lunchtime with thirty plus supporters suddenly it was very very busy indeed. There was such an absolutely brilliant, heartwarming atmosphere we all said we wished we could have bottled it and saved it for another day.

Tom and Annabel were walking 18 miles along the River Nene from Rushden Lakes to Radio Northampton HQ in aid of Nene-Deavour a walk and talk challenge raising funds for this year’s Children in Need appeal. They were ahead of schedule when they arrived with us, but after they left somehow or another they managed to add three more miles onto the challenge which ended up totalling 21 miles overall.

It was a real joy to be able provide them with refreshments before they set off on the final leg of their journey. Their presence made everybody’s day and needless to say loads of photographs were taken and memories made. So thank you team Nene-deavour.

We look forward to hearing the final total. Oh yes, Pudsey by the way, took the opportunity to jump on behind the counter to offer his services!
