Autumn ready

The first sign of Autumn for us at the marina is when we start planning our fabulous Macmillan Coffee morning at the end of September; it signals the fact that the stretch tent must come down until next year and that our lovely little horse box number 9 must be packed away for the Winter too.

I don’t think we have had such a prolonged dry spell since we opened way back in 2016. We have been incredibly lucky that everyone has been able to enjoy being outside, whether its just enjoying a brew with a view, or tucking into one of our hearty breakfasts or a delicious lunch overlooking the marina. Its been totally brilliant.

Talking of our coffee morning we are thrilled to be able to announce that we raised an amazing £1200 for Macmillan and would like to thank everyone who baked and supported our annual event. We do love it so much, and we are always so grateful to our loyal supporters especially our stall holders who come every year to help raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

Looking ahead, we have quite a lot planned, there’s a spooky quiz night coming up at the end of this month, and a wreath making session in our boaters lounge in December which should definitely get everyone revved up for Christmas. Sara and the office team are always thinking of fun activities for our lovely community to enjoy. so keep a look out for news about further events and activities coming up at White Mills and the boathouse.

It has been a great Summer at Lock 9 here on the River Nene, we have had some fabulous feedback from so many visitors, all of them complimenting us on our new facilities block, fantastic location and last but no least our awesome customer service.

All the best for now and be sure you enjoy the last of the long days.
